Description
There are two kinds of lithium ion batteries: liquid lithium ion battery (LIB) and polymer lithium ion battery (PLB). Among them, the liquid lithium ion battery refers to Li + embedded compound is positive and negative of the two batteries. The cathode uses lithium compound cobalt lithium manganate and lithium manganese oxide, and negative electrode adopts lithium carbon interlayer compound. Because of its high working voltage, small size, light weight, high energy, no memory effect, no pollution, little spontaneous discharge and long cycle life, lithium ion batteries are the ideal energy carriers for the development of lithium ion batteries in twenty-first Century.
In 1992, Sony successfully developed Li ion batteries. Its practicability has greatly reduced the weight and volume of portable electronic devices such as mobile phones, laptops and so on. Use time is greatly extended. Because the lithium-ion battery does not contain heavy metal cadmium, compared with the nickel cadmium battery, the pollution of the environment is greatly reduced.

There are usually two kinds of lithium batteries: cylindrical and square. The inside of the battery is spirally wound with a very fine and porous polyethylene film isolation material spaced between the anode and cathode. The cathode consists of a current collector consisting of cobalt lithium (or nickel cobalt, lithium manganate, lithium manganate, lithium iron phosphate, etc.) and aluminum foil. The negative electrode is composed of a current collector consisting of graphitized carbon material and copper foil. The battery is filled with an organic electrolyte solution. In addition, safety valves and PTC elements (partially cylindrical) are used to protect the battery from damage during abnormal conditions and short circuit output.
Single lithium battery voltage is 3.7V (lithium iron phosphate cathode for 3.2V), the battery capacity can not be infinite, therefore, often a single lithium battery for series and parallel processing, in order to meet the requirements of different occasions.
With the development of microelectronic technology in twentieth Century, the miniaturization equipment is increasing day by day, and the power supply is highly demanding. The lithium battery has entered a large-scale practical stage.
Lithium ion batteries have been widely used in portable devices such as portable computers, camcorders and mobile communications because of their unique advantages. Large capacity lithium ion battery development has started trial in electric cars, is expected to become one of the main power supply in twenty-first Century electric cars, and will be able to get on the side of application satellites, aerospace and storage. With the shortage of energy and the pressure of environmental protection in the world.
